Meet The Artist

Lilly Day is a twenty two year old Ohio based digital artist, illustrator, and animator. Her work includes animated shorts, and digital illustrations. Lilly graduated with honors from The Art Academy of Cincinnati with a BFA in digital arts and animation, and is a certified graphic designer with a certificate from Butler Tech. She creates work that is light, bubbly, clean, and that harkens back to the art style of 2010 American and western cartoons.

The themes in her work play largely on nostalgia and anemoia, a word coined by John Koenig in his 2021 book The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, to convey the feeling of “Nostalgia for a time you never experienced” (167). Her work is also an expression of her constant ever changing obsession with various movies, TV shows, music, video games, and other media. Obsession is the main driving force behind all of her creative works, and anemoia is the emotion that she obsess over the most.

Lilly aims to create art that shares her values as a queer artist, make people happy, and puts stories into the world she wishes she could have had when she was younger.
